　The LNX-506M-24V is a Modbus-only converter that connects to RS-485 via LAN. It converts the protocol from Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU/ASCII. It can operate as a master or slave and connect Modbus devices over Ethernet. Modbus can be used for both serial and Ethernet devices, but because serial and Ethernet communications differ not only in terms of physical connections but also in protocols, protocol conversion is also required to interconnect them. The LNX-506M-24V can be used to integrate Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII networks. It
　supports a wide range of power inputs from DC5 to 30V, and can be powered from a DC24V power supply that is often used in control panels ( there is also a separate product, the LNX-506M, which can be powered from an AC adapter). You can also use
　the virtual COM port generation tool to link the IP address assigned to this product to a virtual COM port and use it. This allows it to be treated as a normal COM port, so you can design PC-side applications without any network knowledge.

　It can communicate with Modbus RTU/ASCII slave devices in remote locations via Ethernet.
If the master is a PC, the IP address assigned to the LNX-506M-24V can be assigned to a virtual COM port for use, so no network knowledge is required for programming.

　A Modbus RTU/ASCII master device can communicate with a Modbus TCP slave device in a remote location via Ethernet.
